New Connections: Increasing Diversity of RWJF Programming aims to expand the diversity of perspectives that inform RWJF programming and introduce new researchers and scholars to the Foundation, while simultaneously helping to meet staff needs for data analysis. The program invites Junior Investigators scholars from historically disadvantaged and underrepresented communities to address specific questions posed by one of RWJF's program areas including: Childhood Obesity, Coverage, Human Capital, Public Health and Vulnerable Populations.

The Procurement and Grants Office of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has published a funding opportunity announcement entitled, “Evaluation and Impact of a State Law Requiring Mandatory Influenza Vaccination of Hospital Employees (U01)”. Approximately $300,000 will be available in fiscal year 2010 to fund one to two awards. The purpose of this grant is to seek a cooperative agreement to evaluate the impact of a 2006 California law for all acute care hospitals to require mandatory influenza vaccination for their hospital employees. 

Public Health Law Research has selected 54 applicants from its second call for proposals  to submit a full proposal. 

Full proposals are due on  July 21, 2010.

Future  funding announcements are expected in in late September.
